Hi guys, theres some good specials at my local store on video cards and a 22 inch monitor but I need some advice before buying. Do you think a EVGA 320 meg 8800 GTS would be bottlenecked by a 3800+ amd(not dual core).

Also would going from 1280x1024 to 1680x1050 resolution make a big difference in performance and if so, if going to 1680x1050 would it be better to go with the 640 meg 8800 GTS instead. (I know the second part of the question should probably go in the video card section but I wanted to put them together)
Thank you in advance

Do you mean would your CPU bottleneck the video card?
Of course! But then you'd need a pretty fast CPU to take full advantage if that 8800gts. That 3800+ you have is actually a pretty quick single core. I used to have one and it really does hold its own. Mostly your bottleneck question applies to the games or apps you have or plan to run, and whether or not they can utilize dual core. If not, then go ahead and go for the 8800gts. If they, do it wouldn't hurt to grab that video card anyway. You really won't notice much of a bottleneck.

Oops just realized I wrote it the wrong way around, editing now. Thank you, I decided to buy the card now...I will be upgrading cpu to a e6600 in a few months so the card will still be good for then. But if I will be moving to a different monitor with 1680x1050 resolution anyone know if I should go with the 320 meg or the 640 meg 8800GTS.
thaks again
