nvidia 8800gts vs nvidia quadro fx..????

hello friends...i have a great confusion in buyin graphic card....i am a 3d max modellor and also a serious gamer....i love to play lots of games.....and i also want to do 3d modellin as it is my profession....
am planning to buy a card...i plan to buy 8800gts @ $300 but recently some of my friends told me abt the nvidia quadro fx series cards......
all i want to know which one is best for 300$ price range.....
pls tell me which is best for 3d modellin as well as games....(a card which can reduce my render times).....
pls give me some info on both series cards as well....

amd 3500+, asus a8n sli, leadtek 6200tc 256mb, 1gb ddr 400 ram, sony dvd rw...
