Firefox Memory Usage Question

Hey all,

Got a question about memory usage while running Firefox. I am running Win 7 64bit and every so often AVG will pop up a warning saying Firefox is using 200-300 mbs of memory and to close firefox and reopen it. Is this normal usage, if not what could be the problem? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I am running 8.0. I am checking out those links now to see if it can solve this problem for me.

Only reason I was worried was because of the AVG pop up that said Firefox was using to much memory when it hit about 275 mbs of memory.

Thanks area51. If that much memory usage is normal, I will just chalk it up to AVG being overprotective I guess.

BTW, how many add-ons do u have installed?

More add-ons u have - more RAM is used : )

Also the toolbars, do u have any? Get rid off them. They are useless.
