Hey guys

I was about to purchase an evga superclocked 7600gt until i noticed its vram was ddr2 instead of ddr3. I was wondering how much this would affect the performance of this card

That is as good as a 7600GS. They call it a GT because of CORE clock frequency. I call it BS and misleading.

Hey It looks like the 7600GT you're looking at runs 100mhz(200mhz effective) faster then the pci-e 7600GT GDDR3 counterpart. So go for the 7600GT you're looking at!
EDIT!: Thats no GT thats a GS avoid it at all costs! How about this?

Yeah I realized that it was 800mhz effective as soon as I posted so I've edited my post. BTW nice dp ferrets are awesome I miss my Finnie alot.

6 she died at the start of the year poor thing I had to get her put down at the vets due to a major internal infection :cry:. I would get another one but there illegal in Queensland due to health risks or some crap like that.

Well you could just skip going after a new video card and get a ferret their so great :D .
Well you could get a palit 7600gs with ddr3 and oc it.

I have an AMD 3500+ with (2 x 512)mb of ram
A little off topic to extend the life of this rig, would it be wiser to invest in an additional 1gb of ram for a total of 2 gigs of ram or should i invest in a 7600gt.

You should go for the video card it will boost fremes much more then a 1gigabyte of ram can.

Sorry for the previous post, try to find a palit 7600gs with ddr3 and oc it, or go for a regular 7600gt with just 256 ddr3 memory.
