Hi! I was wondering if someone could help me out with a question I have. I bought a Geforce 7950 GT 512MB video card recently, and I'm concerned that the performance I'm getting is not quite as high as what the card is capable of. The performance is certainly good, but it seems much slower than what I see from benchmarks using similar CPUs.

Here's a link for my 3D mark '05 score:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=3178126

When I ran the benchmark and got this score, I was using the Nvidia control panel settings of "performance." All of my other pertinent hardware specs are visible in the link. Thanks!

is following 3D Mark 06 Score acceptable for following PC specs?

Score: 12892

Specs:
Proc: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775
Processor Model BX80562QX6700
Mem: 2GB of OCZ EPP 6400 ram
Timings: 4-4-4-15 2t
Vid: MSI NX8800GTX-T2D768E GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3 PCI
Express x16
MB: ABIT IN9 32X-MAX LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel
Motherboard
HD: 2 each Seagate ST3750640AS in raid 0 = 1.36TB after formatting
2 each Maxtor 6B250S0 in raid 0 = 467.52 GB after formatting
PS: Thermaltake toughpower W0117RU ATX12V / EPS12V 750W
Power Supply
CPU Cooler: ZALMAN 9700 LED

CPU, Vid Card, and Mem are all at stock speeds. Skeptic of OCing and damaging parts. Is this a decent 3d Mark for the parts listed? What should I consider upgrading first? Have had this PC since Feb this year.

Thanks for your replies. I did suspect that Vista was the culprit when comparing my results to other's with P4's also, and their scores were 7000+; didn't realize it was so significant a slowdown. About getting a dual core processor, wish I could!

hi i'm having a few problems getting any results from overclocking.
my 3dmark06 base score was 1380 which is pathetic ive managed to boost it up to 1442 overclocking my gpu from 351MHz to 408MHz which is still pathetic
where am i going wrong or do i just need a full overhaul
how about if i run another 7300gt 512MB through SLI is this going to make any considerable diff
