I am going to build a new gaming pc but wanting to get some security software. It has been a while since i owned a pc and had a few questions.

1) What security do I need? i.e virus, malware etc

2) What brands should i get for each required protection? Willing to spend money, I don't want my new build to slow down

Thanks
Really appreciate the help

http://www.gdata-software.com/home-security/ < Gdata Internet Security Site

* Gdata Internet Security ^ Not free but worth the price ^

* Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

* Superantispyware Free Edition

More on Gdata Internet Security and Antivirus Software ^

***Gdata is a twin engine antivirus engine solution:It contains the Bitdefender and Avast antivirus engines under one GUI!

Gdata Internet Security is very light on resources and Malwarebytes and Superantispyware Free Editions are on Demand scanners so they won't slow your computer down!

Any other questions Tom's Hardware is here to help!
