SATA 3Gbs HDs and Windows 2000

I'm selecting part for a new build, the machine will likely be a dual boot Win2K Pro / Win XP Pro. The motherboard and nVidia GPU are both Win2K / WinXP friendly. How can I find out if the SATA Hard Drives will also be usable on Windows 2000? Are there certain brands that are better at this kind of compatibility then other brands?

At this time, no windows version up to server 2003 supports SATA out of the box. But you can supply the drivers (like for a scsi card) and that will allow you to use a SATA drive with Win2000.

I've used Seagate and WD SATA hdd with Windows 2000 without a problem. The SATA drivers should come with your mobo
