Has anyone had success when migrating from a single HD to a raid 0 platform by creating a hard drive image using ghost or acronis image s/w?

I read the article that stated THG could not do this migration on nvidia mb w/o losing data but they did not discuss how they tried to do this? I currently have an existing system and just recently bought an duplicate hard drive and wanted to go to a raid0 setup.

I have a separate backup 160gb (only need 80db for image) drive I will create my image on then I will try to copy it back once I have my raid drives setup. Is this feasible?

Current system is on an 80gb sata drive. I will raid w/2 of these types of drives.

Thank in advance!

configuration:
Asus A8N-E MB
2 WD SATA 150s 80gb drives.
1 WD 160gb drive.
