More about task manager opening
  1. What antivirus program are you running? Malware typically causes this kind of behavior.
  2. I believe you have to be an administrator to open regedit
  3. And either it will open, or UAC will prompt you to allow it, if UAC is turned on. If running as a limited user, it should prompt you for the credentials from an account with local admin rights.
  4. If Task Manager won't start, your computer might have a virus. Make sure that you have up-to-date antivirus software installed on your computer, and then search the Microsoft website for the latest virus information. If your computer does not have a virus and you are connected to a network, check with your system administrator to find out if Task Manager has been turned off on your computer.
