Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I'm finally building a new computer as the old p4 isn't cutting it anymore. The main idea was to build a quality rig that wouldn't break the bank like the average prebuilt gaming computers. However, i'm not trying to cut corners and end up with a piece, so here's what I've come up with so far:

Case: Aurora 570
PSU: OCZ GameXstream 700w
MB: Asus Striker Extreme 680i
CPU: Q6600 (waiting for 22nd price drop)
GPU: evga 8800 gtx (would like SLI in the near future)
Memory: 2GB OCZ platinum 1066 ddr2
HDD: 2X Seagate Barracuda 320GB in raid 0
Cooling: Galaxy II liquid cooling

I'm hoping to overclock the q6600 to a reasonable 3.0-3.4 GHz. I had a hard time deciding on what mother board to use, between the evga 680i SLI A1 version or the striker extreme. Which do you think is better and why (aside from the obvious pricing difference)? I'm also having a hard time choosing between Vista Ultimate and XP. The computer is for gaming, mostly counter-strike and the occasional game. What OS should I use? Do you have any other recommendations on components that I didn't even consider? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I's go with a Asus P5N32-E SLI unless the other mobo has some feature you want.

The OS...since you'll pay for it it's not easy to recommend...
That system looks awesome.
