The second NTFS boot sector is unwriteable

I have windows xp pro
i have a maxtor hd
80gb
but i have c: and e:
40 gb each
since 2-3 weeks
i had
Delayed write failed
on my e:
then
windows ran CHKDSK
and after completing
3 stages it says
The second NTFS boot sector is unwriteable please someone help me.

TBH, it sounds like your hard disk has failed. As it's only 80GB I'm guessing that you've had it a year or two, and they don't last forever.

At least new hard disks cost next to nothing nowadays.

no it didn't fail something is wrong
after system reinstall i got that error in e:
only when transferring bigger files
and it didnt fail
i cant be that half works half doesnt
 
Hard disks don't fail all at once. Normally you start to get write errors and then it gets worse. This link says that the average life of a hard disk is five years (could well be out of date, but so is your disk). I'd save yourself some grief and buy a new hard disk now. These things happen - that's why we keep backups.
