I lapped my Tuniq 120, lapped my CPU, overclocked my processor--all today.

e4300 at 2970 MHz

Idle:
-Core Temp says cores at 36C-39C
-TAT says both cores @ 40-45
-Speedfan says cores @ 23-25

Under full load:
-Crystal CPUID says the DTS is 40
-Core Temp says both cores @ 61C
-TAT says both cores @ 56C
-Speedfan says cores at 45C (which is wrong)

So I read that the TjMax is either 85 or 100. Well, the TjMax for my processor must be at 100C because otherwise, my processor would be running below ambient.
The vCore is set at 1.344, vDimm is 1.9 or 2.0 (I don't know, it doesn't say in the bios; I set the vDimm at +0.1), all other voltages are at stock.

Questions:
1)In the BIOS, I raised the vCore to 1.344. CPUz sometimes says it's at 1.344 and sometimes at 1.312. Which one is more accurate, the BIOS setting or CPUz?

2) Since Core Temp has to be the most accurate (because it gets its measurement from DTS) the cores are running at 61C at full load. Intel's Thermal Specification for e4300 is 61C. Therefore, would I be wise to stop raising the FSB, even though it doesn't seem as if I've hit the limit?

3)I put the AS5 in the same day that I OCed. Is there like a break-in time for AS5? Can I expect the thermal performance to improve? If so, how long does it usually take?

Thanks

when i put on thermal grease it took a month or so to fully break in. in that month or so my temps dropped about 5 degrees (not due to ambient temps). i'm sure that the bios is slightly more accurate but cpuz is a great program, dont worry about that. and i would try dropping the vCore just a little if you can, if not then lower your clock speeds a little.

On the AS website, it says that it takes up to 200 hours to break in AS5, provided that there are regular thermal cycles (i.e. turning the computer on and off). I don't think burn in software would drastically shorten the break-in period.

well in my case once i bought my tr-120x the 1st 12 hours my temps where sorta high(around 35-40c) then i did the burn-in software for around 12 hours or so and then the next day my temps dropped and stayed at 25c idle 48c load ever since

In the other thread, I told you that, with the e4300, Speedfan doesn't work. Download CoreTemp 0.95

1) in a word: Vdroop - basically when the CPU is under load (using energy) the Mobo can't adjust to compensate for the slight voltage drop. So CPU-z is reading the actual voltage after this droop, while in the bios the number is what the mobo is set for.

It's nothing to be worried about anyways (as long as the difference is very low). There is also a setting in the Mobo that allows it to automatically reduce the voltage (and multiplier) to reduce energy consumption at idle - so it could be that too

everest speedfan coretemp sandrasoft and whatever you throw at it its still going to say the same damn thing!!! 25c idle 48c load stop hating mang! you too can have low temps if you beleive!!! remeber .. there is no spoon!
