I am trying to install an old IDE hard drive to my new comp running vista. I have tried everything I know to do and it is still not letting me access the drive. I recently bought a converter box to convert the IDE to a usb plug in and I can see the drive in disk management but it is not recognized in "my computer". I think I need to do something in BIOS but I dont know exactly what. Can someone help me on this one, thanks!
i think if you go to disk management, select the drive, and then click import it should work. but then again i dont use vista so i dont know if its the same as xp
I realize that is what everything I have read has said to do, but the problem is that when I right click on the drive in disk management the only thing that isnt grayed out is delete and help. I have tried everything I know to do and I cant format, or initialize or partition or anything else.
