I was going to get a SAPPHIRE 100166L Radeon X1650XT 256MB, but have not been able to find any Windows 2000 drivers for it. I will also be running XP 64 Pro, but will have my system set up Dual Boot. Will XP 32 bit drivers work with W2K..?? What is the ATI "catalyst" driver..?? Does the catalyst have anything to do with the HardWare Driver..??

I guess I will be going with the EVGA 512-P2-N447-LX GeForce 7300GT 512MB card, since it has W2K drivers.

Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.....!!!!

Thanks,

"Catalyst" is the name of AMDs driver suite. So yeah, you'd want to get the latest Catalyst package. Unfortunately, it looks like AMD stopped supporting Windows 2000 back in Feb of 06. The X1650XT wasn't released until Oct of 06, so you're not going to find any drivers from AMD for Windows 2000 for that card.

I can't say whether or not the AMD XP drivers will work for your Win2K system, but if you go to omegadrivers.net and look under their RADEON offerings, they're grouped as W2K/XP.

Hope this helps.

By the way, there's just no comparison in performance between a X1650XT and a 7300GT, the difference is pretty tangible (Radeon being the obvious better choice)
