Hello,

I'm trying to alter a .gif file. I just want to change the color that the tab changes to when it is hovered over in the webpage. I opened the .gif file in paint and the bottom section i tried to change to blue. However it won't let me, in paint when i "fill" with the color blue (or red, or purple) it only changes the bottom portion to a shade of grayish brown.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!

.gif files use palettes, so you must add a color to the palette before you can use it.

Also, if you need a free powerful tool to edit graphics check out GIMP.

Yeah GIMP rocks for image editing.

However it's kinda weird how you're implementing this hover over. Typically you'd use CSS to change the image on hover.
