DDR2 is dirt cheap, what are you complaining about?

DDR 2 is dirt cheap but once there is less and less of DDR2 the price will go up because of supply and demand. Look at the prices of DDR compared to DDR2. DDR is a lot more expensive than DDR 2. The law of supply and demand If the supply is high and the demand is high the price goes down. IF the demand is high and supply is low prices go up.

Not quite right. Performance DDR in some cases is now cheaper than ever. Many models of performance DDR have gone out of production. High performance DDR2 is still pretty high and that's not surprising since it is made from the top binned-chips.
