New system want opinions

I'm thinking of building a new system and would like you opinions on 2 items

I also heard that intel will be dropping there prices on the 22nd of this motn, is this true? and if so how much would they drop it by.

yes Intel are dropping prices. By quite a bit actually.

as for the motherboard choice, no idea, sorry.

graphics card choice, I would go with the 8600 GT XXX, if only because it is newer and has DX10 support. It will be slightly faster, maybe not as fast as a 7900 GS in a lot of cases, but overall not bad.

If noise is something you dont like the Fatal1ty card is awsome.

While the 8600 GT is a DX10 card, therefore good if important to you, but I'd rather get a cheaper silent card now (Fatal1ty). When DX10 becomes usefull, then go for a good good DX10 card 8800GTS or better.

Get a cheaper, single PCI-E x16 mobo and no 8600GT, get this instead:

PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 XT Extreme SILENT Heatpipe 256MB

This card is substantially faster than the 8600GT for the same price
