I'm looking to OC a core 2 duo and need a good CPU cooler. Recently, many new coolers have come out (like the Amanda etc.), so it's kind of hard to figure out which one is worth buying.

My price range is about 100ish for cooling. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what would be a good buy? Thanks

The best air cooling you can get without a peltier is currently the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme, followed closely by the Thermalright Ultra 120 and the Sunbeam Tuniq Tower 120.

For peltier-related cooling, you can go with the Titan Amanda, Vigor Monsoon II, or the Ultra Chilltec, as Toms Hardware has recommended. However, these TEC coolers will cost you more than the 100 that you have budgeted.

If you are willing to go past that budget limit, I would also take a look at the new submissions by Coolit as they have effective cpu coolers in a closed water loop.

I heard the CoolIT cooling isnt that good. People say that they have seen air cooling w/ better temperatures.. If I was going to spend 300, wouldnt it be better to just do water cooling? Although i'm not sure what is a good water cooling system etc.
