I have recently purchased the Samsung 22' 226BW and I want to play Americas army and Call of duty 2 on my PC on its native resolution, but for some reason It gets really laggy when I play it on the native resolution 1680x1050. When I got to 800x600 it works perfect but I lose the visual quality of the games. I am thinking that the problem lies within my gigabyte 6600 DDR2 but i am not certain. my previous monitor was a 17' Dell and had the same problem so I am asking you guys if you know the problem before I go out and buy a new GPU and if that would solve my problem. If so I was looking at the Gigabyte 8600 GTS or the GT
version.

Thanks for any help

well that sounds like the graphics card isnt up to it to me if you realy want to go with one of the 8*** cards then i would recomend you start at the 8800gts 320 as the 8600 is quite a weak card the 7950 would be faster than it in dx9 as well as the 1950 pro/xt.

the 8600 is a bad choice, it gets whipped by all 7 series cards from the 7600GT up in DX9 mode, and it can't play any DX10 games at an acceptable frame rate

given the rest of your specs, as mactronix said, I'd suggest a 7950 or 1950 of some description
