wireless internet help please

hi all i got a laptop from ebay its the toshiba portege 4010. it has wireless network built in but whrn i try to conect to to my wireless network i get a message saying windows is unable to connect to the selected network, the network may no longer be in range. please refresh the list of availbe networks and try to connect again. when i do this my network comes up but when i try to connect to it keep getting the same massage. im not out of range as im sat next to the main computer i have been told that as its a old laptop the mini pci wireless adaptor my need changeing do anyone know were i can buy one for this laptop . manythanks

Does the laptop's wireless detect the wireless router's signal ?


Perhaps you need to apply the router's wireless security passphrase to the laptop's wireless networking interface.

Personally, I would access the router via an ethernet cable and turn off wireless security until I got a reliable connection.
