So tonight I decided to give a go at Ocing my e6600. I followed roughly wusy's guide and for the most part just wanted to see what I could boot to stable. I started with a small overclock to 2.7ghz just to get my feet wet, I later moved up to 3.0 ghz. Feeling confident about that OC since it was stable for 10 mins of orthos and about an hour of titan quest i thought I'd see what my cap is. So i boosted the fsb to 1600 and low and behold, IT BOOTED! WOOTNESS! I know this is all review for all you pros but I wasnt expecting it to be that easy, after all I have the voltages on auto and its sitting at the same voltages as 3.0ghz of 1.408-1.416 idle and load, respectively. I'll add the northbridge fan now since i'm sure its cooking atm.

Temps are as follows in an ambient temp of 34 celcius (friggen HOT in my room)

-I used Speedfan 4.32 to get these
System 38C
Idle- CPU core 42-44C, CPU 47C
Load-CPU core 48-52C, CPU 58-60C

Voltages
CPU-Auto, 1.408-1.416, Nvidia Moniter reports 1.5v
NB-Auto

Ram timings
4-4-4-12@2.1v (as per spec sheet)

I'd like to hear back from any pro's as to what I should do and if possible, let me know where I can read my northbridge temps as speedfan doesnt seem to tell me. It failed orthos after 2 minutes stating a hardware failure, however vista operated as normal afterwards. I saved my settings in the bios and put things back to stock.

1.408-1.416v is pretty damn high for the e6600 at "auto". What does it say in CPUz?
The voltage is not supposed to go up at load, it's supposed to drop. Are you sure about that? Make sure you're using CPUz.
The core temps are not suppose to be lower than the TCase. Maybe you mixed them up?
If Nvidia Monitor is right, you've got your CPU at a friggin high volts. Once again, use CPUz.
Ambient is 34C? 3.6 GHz? Your CPU should be hotter than that.
What cooler and Mobo do you have?

I am using CPUz. I got the voltages from there. I'm using a noctua u12f, xfx 680i mobo in an antec 900 case. As for speedfan I just copied what it said. I`m sure cpu and core is messed up on it because it makes little sense to me, so lets just assume core is 47 and cpu is 42.

Right now i`m back to stock speeds, and in a 28 degree room i`m getting 32-34 cpu, and 37 core with a system temp of 34. My vcore on stock speeds is 1.288-1.295v. This is all based on what Speedfan and CPU-z state, nvidia monitor states essentially the same info.

I thought really high volts were above 1.5v?

On air just dont pass 1.5 if your temps allow it. Your temps are like mine, so I wouldnt sweat it man. right now Im at 1.44 and my cpu is
42 idle 53 load. Perfectly fine imo.

If he is using auto to get the proper CPU voltage the value will go up when a load is applied. If the voltage was manually set the voltage may droop when a load is applied. I would try manually setting the voltage to 1.4v in the bios and see what happens after that. If it is stable, try lower, if not raise it a notch. You are correct in stating that high volts are >1.5v on air that is.

I would suggest using Core Temp or Intel's TAT to monitor temps. You have a nice CPU here if everything stated is correct, congratz.
