Hi, I'm looking at getting an Intel DG33FB motherboard and an ATI Radeon X1600 Pro. I want to connect my main monitor to the ATI and a secondary to the on-board video. Both at VGA-connector monitors.

I've heard that using onboard and expansion video sometimes doesn't work. Does anyone have any experience with these products, or know whether or not there would be a problem with this setup?

Not sure, but see if the 1600 has 2 connects itself, if it does, then use those

The 1600 does have multiple connections, but one is VGA, the other is DVI. Both monitors are VGA. I'm sure there's an adapter I could get, but I want to know if it would work with the setup described above.

DVI-VGA converter most GFX cards come with those today, if not go out and buy one for like 3$ also no you cannot use onboard once you have a Dedicated Video card(not onboard) the Onboard will be disabled.

Youd just be complicating things using your onboard, having to run/use that AND you gfx card. Ive read it CAN be done, but why? The 1600 can handle both, use a converter and youre all set.
