Best overclocking board?

What is the best valued overclocking board?
■ LGA775 (e6600)
■ no SLI/xfire (single 8800gtx)
■ ddr2-800 (crucial ballistix tracer)

no body answered you question since its not a good question - best with regards to what? price? as in regards to ram - all ram works in most mobos do not believe what you read.

address the ram issue: it has to do with voltage at the fist boot - nividia chip set mobos work with many ram types since they boost the ram voltage .05v.

680i (1850+fsb) oc way better then 650i (1500fsb) for fsb

965 is better then 975, 975 is limited to under 400(1600) fdb

the new intel 35 chipset seems slightly better to equal to 965

price/ feature/ oc

i go with the 680i

but it has its own problems depending on the cpu/mobo combo

I'm looking for a mobo that will OC my e6600 well on thermalright ultra-120 extreme, and will support the new 45nm intel cores when they come out. I understand my choices are fairly limited to the p35 in that case.

I can tell you the exact specs of the other hardware that will go into this build:
■cpu: intel c2d e6600 (with ultra-120 extreme)
■ram: 2gb crucial ballistix ddr2-800 (can get ddr2-1066 if can get tighter timings, but would like to stick with crucial)
■video: 1 8800gtx (will be upgrading when next gen comes out)
■hd's: 1 or 2 raptors, and 1 or 2 storage drives
■mobo: ga-p35?

my goals for this build are 3.6ghz (9*400) and the 8800gtx i will be pushing to at least ultra speeds, more if i'm lucky.

i want a quality board that its going to cost me $280 (striker extreme).

if you don't need RAID & firewire & don't want to pay for stuff that you won't use then you can look at boards like abit IP35-E & Gigabyte P35-S3/DS3 which should be ~$100.
If you do need those features again look at what boards offer what you need/layout/price etc.
abit, Asus & Gigabyte all appear to have good P35s.
