hi,
this is the rig i OCed yesterday:
c2d e6420 (2.13) 266X8 @ 3.2Ghz 400X8, 55-57C @ max load
Zalman 9700 Led (SmartFAN ON)
kingstone 2G 800Mhz @ 800Mhz by reducing the ram multiplier to X2 the ram couldn't manege over 990Mhz at X2.5.
timing is 5-5-5-18
MB- Gigabyte 965p-ds3 FSB @ 1600Mhz
ram:fsb 1:1
VGA- XFX 8800GTS XXX 640MB (xfx's OC. didn't tweaked that..yet...)
HD- WD 250G, 16Mb
PSU- Enermax noisetaker II 485W
case: Enermax with 25cm fan, tweaked the intel's stock fan to case fan...blowing out the zalman's hot air out & 2 cheep fans for now... one under the xfx to out take air... one in front- intake. the
room tem: ~30C

lost planet: the OC didn't changed a thing!! 57fps 1280X1024, AAx4, AFx16, all details at max! (so i guess i need to OC the xfx...)

problems:
- when smartfan is off, the PC won't start... after couple of min, i press reset & the bios disable OC features...
- can i go higher? how? & how can i know i can go any higher?
- i need to learn to tweake the ram more.. in the ctrl-F1 menu.

how can i load here a pic so u'll see the details? - cpuz's & everest's

p.s.
this pc is a blast... the supplier did some mistakes.... i ordered the zalman 9500 & the xfx xxx 320mb ver... & for waiting a month for it, i'll get another HD & make raid 0... so it came 3000 shekels (600$~) less!!! :D :D :D

first off, you NEED more power. 485w is just not enough. i'm surprised it hasnt fried yet. oc'ing the gpu should give you more performance in games. in my opinion, oc'ing memory doesnt help performance greatly. i'm sure theres some gain but it is minimal. be careful that you dont blow it up. also i dont see the need to oc the cpu to 3.2. i'm sure that 2.8 or 2.9 will do just fine and you should see some lower temps. you can probably go higher if you wanted but you will probably need a water cooling system. as for tweaking the ram, maybe thats the limit on your ram. if you're lucky you might be able to get your timings to 5-5-5-15. but just be careful not to blow your memory.

485w should be enough, especially en Enermax
