I've set my motherboard BIOS to stably overclock my processor yet it is not recognised in Vista or by CPU-Z... is my system actually overclocked or is my BIOS lying to me?

Rig:

Abit FP-IN9 SLI
C2D e6230 1.8G (running at about 3G at 1.4v according to BIOS)
2gb Geil pc6400 DDR2 555
8800GTX

Any answers or general tips for overclocking this setup would be much appreciated!

:)

Sometimes your CPU powers down when its not under load, these settings probably havent changed. Im not sure if you can change them.

Run Superpi 1M. If it's at 3GHz, your SuperPi time should be ~20 seconds.

Also look at the multiplier in CPUz. It should be 7. If it's less than 7, run your CPU at 100% while monitoring CPUz. If it goes up to 7, then you have Speedstep on.
