Hey people,

I have no experience in GPU overclocking and wanted so help on this. Is it cheaper to get a reference 8800GTX and overclock with a HR-03-PLUS (or other VGA cooler), or is it about the same as getting a BFG 8800GTX OC1? How do you go about overclocking and testing a GPU? Any help is appreciated!

You can buy pretty much any 8800GTX and overclock it to speeds like that of any buyable GTX. Not an ultra though.

But you dont need to, theres absolutly no point. The performanec gain will be so marginal for a card taht already dpes EVERYTHING brilliantly. Just go for the cheapest GTX you can find and you'll be very very happy!

That's pretty much what I'm doing. I'm buying a BFG at the moment simply because they're the cheapest brand that I trust (which is pretty much BFG, eVGA and XFX)
