i would switch the 8600 out for something like a 7900gs or a x1950pro/xt similar price and a better video card. i also would get a p35 mobo, p5k is asus or ds3r is gigabyte, they are a little more expensive, but can use the penryn chips

or if u can squeeze and try to get a 8800 gts, you will see a huge improvement and i tell you now, that you will regret it later and you may even kick yourself for not getting it now. 8800 gts, you wont be dissapointed. and since its what $50-$100 more.

You REALLY need to pair that CPU with at least an X1950XT/7950GT or ideally an 8800 series card. Also get DDR2 800 ram, it's so cheap there's no reason not to.

But I really can't stress enough how much you REALLY need to drop the 8600GT and get a better card. And by better I don't mean that POS known as 8600GTS/HD2600XT, I mean X1950XT/7950GT/8800GTS.

also i think BFG prices are too high, for whatever reason.. I have a BFG card, and they are good because of the life time warranty etc, but i think it would be better to go with evga or something. who also have a life time warranty i believe but they are usually cheaper.
