AMD now largest stakeholder in Transmeta

AMD’s recent $7.5 million investment has made the company the largest shareholder in Transmeta. According to a SEC filing released today, AMD has received 1 million shares of preferred Series B stock, which can be converted into 14,269,400 shares of common stock. According to the document the investment translates into a 6.7% of the company.
According to data published on MSN Money, there are six investors, each of which is holding a share greater than 1% in Transmeta, but none of which exceeds AMD’s holdings. According to the document, Barclays Global Investors currently owns 3.4% of Transmeta (6,841,220 shares), JDS Capital Management 2.5% (5,000,000 shares), State Street Global Advisors 1.5% (2,924,921 shares), Vanguard Group 1.4% (2,888,410 shares), Pequot Capital Management 1.4% (2,766,600 shares) and Artis Capital Management 1.3% (2,645,714) shares.
