I'm getting sick of my onboard sound, there is way too much static and I just keep hearing it more and more. I checked my speakers and I know it isn't coming from them. I don't know much about sound cards but the HT Omega Striker looks good, how is it?

I actually bought this card to replace the x-fi xtrememusic I took out of my backup rig, and I think it sounds just as good as the xm for music/video. The drivers are nice and simple, and it didn't have the infamous NF4 crackling issue the x-fi had on my DFI mobo. Anyways, assuming that the static/cracking isn't the result of a bad speaker connection, this card will sound MUCH better than onboard sound. If you don't need/plan on using the optical/digital connections on the striker, I might suggest http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102006 for $60.99 after $30 MIR, as it will be similar in audio quality but with the positive addition of EAX 3 and 4.
