I just upgraded my video card to powercolor X1950XT 512mb. While I was at it I knew my DeLL E510 305w power supply wouldn't cut it. My fear is that I might screw something up with such a cheap power supply Eagletech PSCP500. P43.0, Soundblaster gamer, 4g ram, Samsung226bw.

I wouldn't trust a $15 PSU. I found some specs. And what's this mean:
"Shielded Tube to Reduce EMI"??? Tube?
Output Range Noise Killer
Voltage +3.3V +5.0V +12V1 +12V2 -5V -12V 5Vsb Yes
Max Load 30A 35A 14A 14A 1.0A 1.5A 2.5A
Total Output 170W 200W 5.0W 18W 12.5W
Max Peak Power 530W to 560W

Uh, no. Those numbers add up to 405.5W, not 530W, although they are saying "Max PEAK." I wouldn't trust it. 14A on each +12V rail is probably not enough either.
Did you check the Dell's pinout to make sure it is standard? The size may be the same, but is the wiring?

You could use it if you want, Dell's pinout is standard , but it provides less +12 volt amperage than the 22 amps your stock psu does, according to the numbers provided by jtt283. If you're going to upgrade the psu you have to find something that is an actual upgrade.

This got a good review from jonnyguru and isn't to hard on the wallet

Or you could get a Dell 375w/30amp psu from here for less money

This is the psu that was used to power the X1950Xt in the D9100 and a newer version of the same is now included in the XPS 410 and used to power the 8800 GTX.

I've tried to edit the message to fix the link, apparently I'm doing something wrong, or maybe it's not allowed

Do you think it will run the X1950xt video card or am I wasting my time installing it. Secondly if it doesn't work will an thing be damaged in the process ??

Are you certain that Dell PSU pinouts are standard. For a lot of years, they weren't.

i think it's stupid to spend that much money on a card and not lay out a few bucks for a decent power supply to drive it.

Lord know's Vallis I Love to be called stupid as much as the next guy. I was just trying to grab a larger power supply as I was checking out. Climb down off of your high horse and try to pretend to help someone.
