I need a bit of help in understanding what to do next with my rig. After searching the forums on countless websites and reviews many threads about overclocking, i still feel confused about my own.

I currently have a 3800+ newcastle 939 cpu
Asus A8V Deluxe mobo
2gig of corsair value select ram
6800 GT (by bfg)
550 PSU truepower by antec
and a 74 gig raptor drive.

What i need to know is, has anyone had experiance with my type of cpu, ram, or mobo and could directly help me with settings or understanding what i can and cannot do with my rig. I know value ram sucks but i got nothing else.

I'm trying to get better frames mostly for my games/(oblivion mostly)

I need to know about how far i can go without spending a dime on a new cooler (my case fans are pretty good)
I know overclocking shortens the lifespand of the cpu, so i would like it as stable and reliable as possable for at least 1-2 years longer. I don't understand all of the bios setting (I.E. 4-8 DQbits??) etc etc.

So, if i could get a bit of help or direction in what to do, or settings where i could safely start out at (not looking for extreme here) I would greatly appreciate it. Any suggestions or advice on minor/major overclocking, or even ram timings, or bios settings i could optimize, would be great. The entire rig is stock and factory set.

If anyone has exact settings for me to save me the trouble understanding it all, that would be just amazing, and greatly apprciated.

Thank you to all in advance for the help :)
