Take a look at my signature and you will see what I am currently running for a computer...

Basically, I don't want to fill up my Raptor drives, so I was thinking of getting 2xSATA 3.0Gb/s drives for extra storage space. The reason I want to get 2 instead of just 1 big one is because I would like to run them in a RAID-0.

Is it possible to do this, since I already have my 2 Raptor drives running in RAID-0, or can you only run 1 RAID-0 setup?

More about : raid setups

i'm pretty sure you can run two raid arrays off the same controller. as long as at least 2 sata ports are free (no **** in your case lol). and i know that intel's matrix raid is very extensive, feature-wise. so i'd be highly surprised if you couldn't.

Have 965-DQ6. Have XP Pro installed on 2 WD HDD (Raid 0) and Vista Bus installed on 2 Segate HDD (Raid 0)

I'd suppose that it would depend on one's controller....

But I'd ask why does one want to do this? (If you'd said one raid set at raid 0 and another at raid 1....)

I only have 1 RAID-0 setup currently, no RAID-1... I just want to add a 2nd RAID-0 setup for performance/storage.

I would like to network my Directv HD-DVR and throw 2x500GB drives in my PC for it ;-)

Thanks guys!

Croc - the reason I did it was, I put XP on one pair - removed and then installed Vista on second pair. Put 1st pair back in and have a dual boot from bios as opposed to a duo boot menu.

Good idea... I like it.

RAID 0 is always good for your boot drive (assuming you are aware of the normal RAID 0 caveats). For storage, I would do RAID 5 instead. You have the striping like RAID 0, but at least you have some redundancy if a hard drive were to choke.
