Hi, I need help with building my computer, this is going to be the 1st computer I ever built so I'm not entirely sure if these things are even compatible with each other :(

I do plan to play games on this and I know DX10 is out but those cards are just not in my budget right now.

My current budget is $500 - $550 (USD) and will not mind if I go a little bit above that. (just a lil bit...like 10 dollars:D)

Anyway...I was looking at these

Video Card
SAPPHIRE 100186L Radeon X1950XT 256MB - $170

Moth erboard
GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R - $158.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128048

C PU
Intel Pentium D 940 3.20GHz - $99.99 (no longer available  )

Memory
OCZ Gold XTC 1024MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz - $54.99
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Edp No=2205992&CatId=1554

Power Supply
Power Up 550-Watt ATX 120mm Fan - $ 29.99 (Is this enough power?)
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Ed pNo=2227022&Sku=GEN-2004

CPU Fan
Ultra Fire Socket 775 P4 3.8Ghz - $24.99
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Edp No=1187029&CatId=1588

I'm planning to buy these hopefully some time this week and would love to hear your opinions about these products and it would be great if guys could also suggest better products in the same price range.

Thanks in advance!

If you want to save money you can save some by buying from one place instead of paying for two different shipments. I would suggest Newegg.

The total cost of your CPU is about $125 so why not just get a E4300 for $121 and stick with the stock cooler for now.

I don't see any specs for the Power supply that you've posted, actually I don't see any of the products you've link (from tigerdirect), but I doubt a $30 dollar power supply can handle a X1950XT.

That PSU you listed is a cheap system frier and can't power the system you listed (especially with a Pentium D, thank god you didn't buy that netburst POS)

Here's a system with a better CPU and a good PSU (I use it myself) for $562.50 before rebates and shipping.

The X2 5000+ trades blows with an E6400, while the E4300 trades blows with a X2 3800+. I'd take the X2 5000+ for a budget build, it will run very well on stock for quite a while.

Wow, thanks a lot you guys!

I was really planning on buying that Pentium D 3.2ghz CPU(I always thought the bigger the number the faster the processing speed) but after looking at the ones you linked me to, and after consulting the CPU chart on this website, those look like a better choice.

I'll review these one more time (I'm a little skeptical with the $100 dollar PSU, then again I don't really know much about PSUs, so could you please enlighten me :D?) but other than that this looks like the computer I'll buy! Thanks! (You even got me to upgrade to 2gb ram without breaking my budget which I never thought I'd ever get :D)

p.s
About those Tigerdirect links, I don't know why they aren't working, maybe I should have used the url tags instead of copy pasting the links.

I'll put it this way for the PSU thing, it is the heart and soul of your computer, every part on your computer needs electricity, and where does it come from? Bingo! It is the most hardworking part and probably stressed on all builds, would you rather have a cheap PSU that won't power your system/will fry your components and make you lose your investment, or pay a decent amount to get constant, strong power flow.
