Hi, I'm new to overclocking and I'm just wondering a couple of things.

First, I have a E6600 that I got because I've heard it's easy to overclock to be as fast as the more expensive modles. Dose that mean I overclock to the speeds found on the higher end versions using just the stock cooler? And second how fast can that stock cooler allow me to push the CPU before I'll have to find a bettter cooler?

If you want to oc any decent amount it's just easier to buy a good aftermarket cooler before you even start. I can't tell you how far the stock cooler can take you cause I never use the stock cooler.

DELTAsnake I recommend u upgrade the cooler before u overclock...LGA 775 Stock cooler is not a good pice of hardware for overclocking....its quite worth spending a abt 40$ a good after market cooler than Frying or Decreasing the life of ur CPU... I use a Asus V-Nardo cooler which quite good at what it does and doesnt make a lot of noise it will cost u about 35$
