http://www.power-on.com/atx12vhp300bt.html Thats my psu I have a AMD X2 4200+ 2048mb DDR2-533(512mb x 4) and a 7600GS atm if I got a EE 65NM cpu would I be able to run the HD 2600XT or just get a 8600GT whitch I know will work. BTW This is just till I build my new rig next summer. I only play at 1024x768 and dont care if I have to turn AA or HDR off cause they dont matter to me thanks!

If I recall correctly the 8600GT is less power hungry, but I would still recommend upgrading that PSU asap because you're pushing it really hard.

the 2600XT uses a bit less power than the 8600GT, not by much, actually, the fans on the cards would use enough power to give either card the advantage, i say go for the 2600XT though, has uvd and hdmi

*sigh*

300W is plenty. But let me prove it:

CPU= 65W
Mobo= 30W
RAM= 20W
HDD= 30W
GPU= 50W
Optical= 10W

Total= 210W

And 19A is wayyyyy plenty on the 12v rail for this system. Matter of fact, you could power this whole system on the 12V rail exclusively! And the numbers I used were highly exaggerated, and your peak power draw will not come close to 200W. I just proved it. Hope this helps.

Read this article. Its long, but really helpful

Are you sure you want to do this - is it really going to be much better than what you have got now?
