I want a p35 motherboard for a q6600 build that has great OC potential. I can't make up my mind. I would like to keep it under 200 dollars but am willing to pay a bit more if the OC capabilities are there. Also, I only want DDR2. Exclude ddr3 only boards. I don't care about brand name so long as its good, although if someone says Foxconn, I might puke. :kaola:

I ran across another forum that hit 3.8ghz (showed 3.6ghz only though) w/ a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6. 4.0ghz appears possible. Supposedly, the FSB was able to hit 550mhz and above w/ ease.

Any conformations that any asus boards can do that?

As well, do the lower priced (150 to 160 dollar) gigabyte boards have this potential?

If nothing else has this potential, I'd send the extra cash and get the GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6 for the raw OC ability. Sli and ddr3 are not important to me. I'd only get DDR3 when I need it. I'm still running DDR1. :D

I don't care about ASUS boards or any ASUS products for that matter. What I can tell you is that both GA-P35-DS3R (No DDR3) and GA-P35C-DS3R (DDR2 & 3 support) are both amazing overclocking boards. The one thing I don't like about the DQ6 is the price, its just not worth it.
