I am assembling a new PC to control my Church's Projector and MediaShout software. With mediashout we will be projecting a lot of video and presentations. This machine will also be our Video editing machine (Adobe Premiere Pro). The card needs to have Dual video outputs (VGA or DVI). I am thinking about a 8800 GTS 320MB version. I'd like to keep the price around $200-$250 if possible.

Any recommendations? I really appreciate your opinions on this matter.

I read in another thread that the Video overlay of the GF cards especially the 8800 on a second monitor is not good (or non-exisitant?). ATI cards are being recommending for this type of setup.

Anyone agree? Suggestions?

I'm not sure how things stack upnow, but Matrox has always been highly regarded for 2d and dual/quad head video cards. If you don't need 3D, then I'd see what Matrox has to offer. There has to be something better than the 8800 in that price range. That card is primarily for gaming.

you might want to look on videohelp.com or some other site that's geared towards video.

I second that 7600GT. A 8800GTS 320 MB is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wayyyy wayyyy overkill. Maybe if you want DX10 get a 8600GT even one thats passively cooled and save a few bucks.

Thanks guys! I am now leaning towards the 7600GT or a X1950XT. I'm still a little concerned about what I've read regarding Nvidia's Overlay on the second monitor.

Just a quick question, what is overlay?
