So my new rig is running brill,
E6750
2gb Corsair 800mhz
bfg 8800 gtx
corsair 520w
gigabyte-P35C-DS3R Intel P35

So anyway first thing i do since im an avid gamer is install my 3dmark06 again and to a test, score comes out at about 10900. Massive improvement over my last system.

Now since i OC'd my old system i wanna try my hand at this one. FOllowing a few tips adn guides i push it to 3.2ghz no probs, but 3mark06 gets only 11500 adn the imrpvement is solely from Cpu score. trying even more i get it to 3.6ghz and 3dmark gives me 12000, which is awesome.

What im wondering is, is there any point in me pushing the processor to 3.6ghz or should i just leave it at 3.2? My PC is for gaming mostly with all the other mucking about stuff liek music etc etc for everything else.

In real world games will i notice a difference between 2666ghz stock for the E6750 and 3.6Ghz or are the all gonna be gpu limited games. I was so used to my old Amd 64 4000 which was my real bottleneck that im kinda at a loss.

To overclock or to not? What are my benefits in doing so?

Any help guys as always is appreciated.

I am in the same boat.I have the E6750 @ 3.2 w/stock voltage using the same motherboard.Running my Ballistixs @ 1:1 @ 800Mhz.I am also wondering if i should go more or not.I don't like to increase my voltages so if that is what it takes to run @ 3.4-3.6 i don't think the extra heat is worth it.Just my $.02.
