Intel and NCIX have forced my hand and I'm going to grab one of the Q6600's fro $280cnd... now to determine what motherboard to get.
Any suggestions?
System will be being used for a home server. I'd 'like' to run Win2k8 Beta 3 on it, that is why I'm thinking an Intel chipset... it does not recognize most of the devices/components on my 680i motherboard and the last time I checked there were no drivers for it either.... if this situation has changed all the better, but any suggestions would be appreciated!
Before I get the 'you don't need a quad' for a server comments, with virtual machines and offloading of some of the video muxing/demuxing I do, all 4 cores will be well used... now if only 2gb sticks of ram would drop in price....
