1 GB on the tip of your finger - Kingston's MicroSD Card on video

How small can flash memory go? Well, Kingston has released a 1 GB MicroSD card that can fit on your fingertip. At the CTIA Wireless convention, Mike Sager of Kingston told us the card is mainly meant for mobile phones, but it does come with an adapter to fit an SD card slot. We show on video just how small the cards are... just don't sneeze or you may never find the card again. Read more

So I have an old HP sitting in a corner that I occasionally use for web browsing but nothing more. It looks like the video card is going out on it. I put in an ATI 9600 All in Wonder a few years back.

Looks like it could be going out now. On the left hand side I get a faint pink bar going vertically through the screen. When I'm in the BIOS setup I could see it pretty well... on my normal desktop very hard to see but when I drag a photo into the area certain pixels light up pink. I'm probably going to setup the monitor to my other computer just to make sure its not a monitor issue. Also I did update drivers and still having the same problem.

If it turns out its a video card issue what would be a good AGP card for under $100.

I was looking at this.

Heres a slightly better card, little bit more but still under $100, it has GDDR3 and is $89.99. It's the best version of that model card, X1650Pro

No point in him getting an open box if he could just get a new one for cheaper.

This is a great deal right now, just make sure the HP power supply is at least 300W. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814161053

If you're only using it for web browsing then there's no point at all in getting a gaming card. Newegg isn't working for me right now but I'm sure there's cheaper cards out there than the x1650pro that would do the job just fine, no point in getting something that will cost more, put out more heat, and pull more power if you have no use for it...

Hook your monitor up to your other PC to make sure the problem is not in the monitor.

That's his current intent, you never know what he may want to do in the near future. Its a couple bucks more so why not get the best for the money your looking to spend?

Hadn't noticed the crossfire part, someone at newegg probably just copied and pasted from the PCI-e and changed it for the AGP listing. Just a oversite. Would be intersting to have an AGP Crossfire setup tho, useless, but interesting.

It's not like you can get any gaming done in the X1650Pro anymore though. At least not where you can actually see a difference between the two, since both will be running in 640x480 or 800x600 with low settings.
