ok i have ordered an ati 2600xt 256mb gddr4 (for mainly hd playback and sum light gaming ) playback on 1920x1080p tv , gaming on a 17" samsung syncmaster 930bf which i belive is 1280x1024. This is until teh high end cards get cheaper or until the 2nd gen of Dx10 cards come. i have a Abit an9 32x motherboard which is sli comapatable but not no mention of crossfire compatability anyone know if i will be able to use crossfire on this?

More about : cossfire abit an9 32x

No you won't be able to use crossfire on that board.

Disclaimer: There are hacked solutions/drivers that allow this but most times are not always in working condition and/or glitch free. nVidia can barely get their own drivers to get there 8800s to work on in Sli on there chipsets in Vista, i doubt someone else could get 2x00's to work on it.

You can run any single GPU with any motherboard chipset perfectly fine.
If you want to run Crossfire or SLI though, then you must buy video cards that match the chipset on your motherboard.
As icy18 stated, there have been people who hacked the drivers and made them work, but I have never heard of anyone doing it and it actually working very well- at all. What I saw you were better off with just 1 card.
