i am buying a new harddrive and I wanted to aks you guys what is the best way to setup the drive so I am able to read and write both from Windows and OS? I want to be able to open, say a psd photoshop file on windows, save, and then open the same file on Macos, work on it and save.

I think I remember Mac being able to read NTFS partitions. A google search will help out.
