E6420 VS AMD 5600+

Halo, i need help to diside what to buy, the intel core 2 duo E6420 or AMD 5600+.

Witch cpu is better/more powerfull for games?

If you want to overclock, buy the e6420

If you want to run at stock speeds, buy the 5600+

If you buy the retail box it will come with a fan. If you get OEM you will need a fan.

With no OC'ing the stock cooler should be all you need.

If you can afford it then ya go for it. As mentioned above, the 6000+ is the best of its breed. If your looking for an AMD that would be the current top of the line.

For the performance difference I am not sure, should be some documentation in the CPU charts here on Tom's.

Wait until after the July 22 price cuts, buy the cheaper CPU of the 3, and put the money into your graphics card.
If you're playing GAMES (as stated in the OP), your graphics card will matter the most. CPU is important, but when it comes to games, usually the bottleneck is the graphics card.

The craphic card i want to buy is EVGA 8800 gts 320mB SuperClocked

be aware that the 320 will run in to problems if a game needs more memory than that for textures... games are already appearing that won't let you select the highest setting for textures if your graphics card memory is limited
