Hi,

Anyone have any experience with the GA-G33M-s2 or GA-G33M-Ds2R?

I know the DS2R is good for overclocking in MATX but havent been able to find anything about the S2 version. I dont need raid but not sure if there are any other differences.

Thoughts?

willthe lack of 1:1be a problem for me with a e4400 and ddr667?

(i thought they fixed that with the recent bios update?)

I hope they did! I'll have to check and get back to you. It was looking grim at the end of June because some Gigabyte rep said that they explicitly weren't going to support it because the "S2" series was not meant for hardcore overclocking.

The lack of that ratio isn't a problem for me, but I have an e4300 and PC2-8500 1066 memory so I've got a lot of memory headroom. The bios presents different multipliers for each CPU so you kind of have to look up in online reference data. As I said, I'll check when I get off of work.

P5K-VM looks like a real contender. If it has the extra memory ratios, I'd say go for it!

Make sure it has enough USB ports for your needs. You might need more than the 12 ASUS provides. :)
