Manually removing items from task bar

I downloaded a meter that I really wanted to use. It didn't work right after a lot of trying. So I uninstalled it. They said some componets couldn't be removed and would have to be done manually. I just wanted to know how to do. I don't want to mess anything else up.

start|run|msconfig startup\uncheck the item reboot and it shouldnt start.

Then open windows explorer go to program files and look for the meter
and delete the folder.
