Is Voom Really going out? I have both cirect TV and Voom and I must say the
picture is much better on Voom.
They have newer sats and technology. As far as comparing viewers, sure Vooms
are going to be lower. They only sell to those who have HD which is nothing
compaired to those who have TV sets. The selection as it stands with Voom
for quality HD programming is very lite to say the least, without Voom it
brings it down to a few channels. When is Direct TV going to add the so
called 1500 channels of HD to their service? and at what cost?

I personally am sorry to see it go. RAVE and RUSH are great channels on Voom
and the quailty of the signal beat Direct TV hands down......

Surely somwone will buy it and keep it going, after all it has more HD
channels then everyone combined........

Just this guys 2 cents

It does appear as if Voom is shutting down on 3/31, unless Dolan can
come up with funding to go forward. As of now that doesn't look likely.
Like you, I have both Directv and Voom and agree that Voom is better
from both a picture quality and choice standpoint.

Directv will not be adding 1500 HD channels to any given subscriber.
This has been misleading and confusing advertising on the part of
Directv. What they really mean is that they will be providing HD local
channels to many areas across the country. THESE channels can number
1,500, but has little to do with adding HD content for any one
subscriber. You probably won't see any significant increase in HD
national channels for another 2 years or so.

As well as your point on availability of those 1500HD channels, right now I
am pretty sure there isn't anywhere NEAR 1500HD channels in existance. They
just don't exist yet. 1500 is such a huge number when talking about HD
channels, it really seems silly for anybody to claim they will have that
many.
