I know how some of you feel about Sparkle, which is why I bought this 350W psu around 5 years ago. Werll, I just had a 550W Coolmax go out on me and am in the process of getting an RMA and a new psu. I know it is sucky psu, but it is on the 3rd pc in my small network, and it is a computer build from scraps for friends during lan parties. So I hope to eventually get a new power supply from Coolmax... V-500 is the model. But I have my hands on an old power supple that I used for a few years, then passed on to a friends computer, and now it has come back to me. So, which is better, a 5-year old 350W Sparkle or a new RMAed 550W Coolmax? I think I have to use the 5-year-old Sparkle... it must weigh three time the Coolmax.

OK... I plan on usiong an ancient XP1700 overclocked to around 2GHz with a fsb at 185-195, two sticks of ram, three hdds (a 30gb and two 20gbs... it is a computer built from old scraps) maybe a sound card, and a 9800 pro. A quality 350 should be fine, right?

You're kinda pushing it. You might have some problems (random restarts etc) as I had a similar build and faced PSU issues. If that's the case, just remove one or two of the HDD's. It should work fine like that.
