Hi,
recently; I've been experiencing extreme lag whilst on my computer as well as random repetitive crashes. I looked in my system logs, and pulled out the following errors:

"The My Web Search Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at "

Which I receive every time after restarting my computer once it freezes up.

and I also frequently have seen:

"The server {C7E39D60-7A9F-42BF-ABB1-03DC0FA4F493} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

Aswell as

"The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service hung on starting.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

If anyone could please help me, it would be much appreciated!!

Hello Newcomer

Welcome to Toms hardware Forums

Uninstall my web search for a start and make sure that all references of it are gone from your computer (including the program files folder). Once you have done that reboot and follow the instructions here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353/EN-US/

Hope that helps

Thank you Lembi, however, I already had removed what I thought was everything of My Web Search. I ran MalwareByte and had deleted everything accordingly in there; and cleared up everything else that was related to My Web Search. However, just a few moments ago my computer crashed ONCE AGAIN - - with the same error. ):

I also have now recieved:

"The Application Layer Gateway Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. "

and

"Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the Application Layer Gateway Service service to connect."
