The 8500 GT is FAR from a gaming card... unless you're building an HTPC, avoid it.

7600 GT... You could also see if you can find a good deal, within the price reach of a 7600 GT, on a ATI x1950 Pro, which would be a better gaming card.

7600 gt is better, 8500 gt supports dx 10 (lame 3-4 fps in dx 10 at 1024*768) 8500 gt is at the level of a 7600 gs, but the 8500gt is a decent overclocker from 490/400 to 700/500, almoust as fast as 7600gt in newer games. I recomend 8600 gt (pretty cheap), or even better an 1950 pro

I haven't seen alot of Direct X to be excited about myself. Comparsions show very little difference in having me buy a card that's Direct X capable. So for value and price, go for 7600 GT then upgrade to the 8800 GTS 320mb when the service pack comes out. Trust me they will have a service pack, they all do, lol.

To anyone that is even thinking about getting a 8500gt DO NOT DO IT!!! I have an 8600gt (just got it recently, not bad for a budget) and i can do o.k. with it. 2 8500gt's in sli dont even come close to hitting an 8600gt which is just laughable. Also, I wouldn't even recommend getting an 8600gt unless you are on a budget like this guy, and then i would recommend overclocking it like i did (700/1500) or else games will suffer.
