Hi guys, im new to TH so hello A very excited me recieved a Leadtek 8800 gts 640mb today, aong with 2x1gb of kingston 667. After removing my old 7900 + drivers, inserting card etc, the monitor reads 'no signal.' Ive searched all over the net trying to find a solution but i cant seem to solve it.
I have a K9N-neo MSI mobo too. Ive tried using the new RAM, and the old one, and all 3gb. Ive reset the CMOS jumper thing, and ive tried it on my mates monitor and it doesnt work on that either. All the cables are connected properly (i think) and im running out of ideas.
Hello, and welcome to the forums.
Can you please supply us with a quick rundown of your system specs? It's hard to troubleshoot when we don't have all the particulars. First thing I would say is the Power Supply, without knowing the configuration of your PC.
Off the top of my head i cant remember what the Power supply is sorry, but all the fans etc are working. It shouldnt be the power supply, because now my old gfx card isnt working too so i think ive messed up something along the way. Ive put back in my old RAM just 1gb so its basically my old system again, except the monitor isnt working.
When i built the system i remember having the same problem, but i cant remember how to solve it
Two graphics cards: Point of View 7900 512mb
New one: Leadtek Winfast PX8800 GTS 640mb
One problem may have occured because i had to shift my hard drive down a notch so i could fit in the graphics card, but im not sure how that could affect it

another update : reading around there seems to be quite some interest in whether the PC beeps on start up or not, and ill say mine does. Theres regular beeping every half a second, every time i load up my PC, that is until i press one of the buttons on the front, as i have one of them digital displays on the front of the case, i dont think this is a problem, as the beeping goes away even if i press the 'light' button for the display - must be due to how ive set up the wiring for it.
I had a problem recently where I simply did not put that card in as far as it would go, you really have to force it sometimes!! If its got a huge cooler a PCI slot may also get in the way.
